At Hanbury Primary School, we encourage pupils to share their views about school life. The School Council members were elected by their classmates. The School Council gives pupils the opportunity to share their opinions with the elected member of their class who then feed these back in our School Council meetings. Regular meetings are held to discuss issues raised and appropriate action to be taken.
The School Council has been involved in suggesting new playground designs, as well as using budgeting skills to choose new play time equipment.
School Council members enjoy taking part in the SHAPE conferences, where they are able to share views with other schools about their role in school and the wider community.
In the future, School Council members will work towards a community project, as well as making peers more aware of local environmental issues.
