At Hanbury Primary School, we encourage pupils to share their views about school life. The School Council gives pupils the opportunity to share their opinions with an elected member of their class. Regular meetings are held to discuss issues raised and appropriate action to be taken.
The School Council has been involved in suggesting new playground designs, as well as using budgeting skills to choose new play time equipment.
School Council members enjoyed taking part in the SHAPE conference, where they were able to share views with other schools about their role in school and the wider community.
They have also discussed suggestions for the new school motto with peers and staff, and later fedback the final decision.
In the future, School Council members will work towards a community project, as well as making peers more aware of local environmental issues.
